Sylvia Daker

As the name suggests, Flowers by Sylvia was established in 1982 by Sylvia Daker. Sylvia has an enduring love affair with flowers, she can remember playing with them as a child and considers that she is still doing the same today! Her first proper introduction to flower arranging and floristry was a month long concentrated course at renowned florist school Constance Spry. She made such an impression on them that she was asked to attend the full-time course. Unfortunately family commitments made this impossible, however as soon as she could Sylvia took a City and Guilds intensive course in Floristry. She passed with flying colours and has never looked back. Up till now Sylvia has been kept busy with work acquired purely through word-of-mouth and she prides herself with the fact that Flowers by Sylvia offers a friendly service with a very personal touch.

Michelle Dawkins

Michelle comes from a creative background, having worked in the Media, Advertising, Theatre and Events for the last ten years. She has always enjoyed a practical, hands-on approach to her work and has been told she has a good eye for colour! After spending many years working in stage and event management she finally decided to give it all up to go in to business alongside her future mother-in-law and train as a florist! She is loving her newly found vocation.
